Science and spirituality – is that possible? The short answer is: Yes.
And now for the slightly longer answer: I am a neuroscientist with a PhD who ventured into the world of communication, where I have been working for the past 10 years. While I deeply value scientifically proven data, I know that science has only scratched the surface of the bigger picture. Today, we know a lot about how certain substances interact with specific receptors in the brain and the effects they elicit. But is the presence of these receptors really meant exclusively for substances we take in from the outside? Does that make evolutionary sense? I doubt it. Many studies now show that mindfulness and meditation have the same effects as antidepressants and tranquilizers—yet they are more sustainable and far-reaching. Our bodies, brains, and minds are capable of much more than we often give ourselves credit for. There is so much we can sense, intuit, and perceive—even if it hasn’t been “proven” in black and white.
I started being a researcher as a child, curious about life and convinced that there was more to reality than what meets the eye. This belief remains with me to this day—even after countless close observations through the microscope. In a world filled with distractions and societal norms, we must relearn how to be mindful, to feel our intuition, and to live our authenticity.
For over a decade, I have been leading teams professionally and have adopted a transformative leadership style that’s based on equality. I prefer to call it “guidance,” as this kind of leadership—supporting people in their personal development—is not just a job for me, but a calling. To continue and deepen this work, I founded Soulways. Here, I combine my scientific expertise and formal education with spiritual teachings to guide people on their soul’s journey. To be spiritual means to be fully present—in this moment, in this body, in this life.
Much of my work is gender-neutral and open to all who wish to rediscover themselves and return to their true essence. I grew up bilingual and speak both English and German fluently.
As a woman, it is especially important to me to empower other women to reclaim and embody their feminine strength. This is why I regularly offer Women's Circles, where we explore the history and truths about women before patriarchy. We work on experiencing the female hormonal and menstrual cycle not only pain-free but as a source of strength. We learn to recognize female sexuality as a source of creativity and power, and we deepen our understanding of female embodiment.
My journey began early: At the age of 8, I discovered meditation and mindfulness through martial arts, and later, my love for movement led me to yoga and dance, which I have now been practicing for almost 20 years. In parallel, I have immersed myself in the world of herbal medicine and "Earth Medicine," influenced by my studies in biology and my years of collaboration with medicine women and shamans.
As a trained Tantra Hatha Yoga teacher and dance instructor, I see movement—along with sleep and healthy nutrition—as the medicine for my body. My recent certification in MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) complements the medicine for my mind and strengthens both my personal meditation practice and my work with others.
I look forward to getting to know you and accompanying you on a part of your journey.
With kindness,
Stefanie
